Responsive Design for Instructional Designers and Developers.

My recent course Responsive Design for Instructional Designers can be viewed at the following URL.

Course Overview:

This course consists of two modules. The first module will cover Mobile Responsive Design theories, limitations and practices to familiarize students with general concepts of Responsive Design and learner constraints in the reduced form factor. The second Module will contain instruction on using responsive design frameworks within Adobe’s Captivate software. The assignment in this section will build off of concepts delivered in the first module.

By the end of this course learners should be competent in analyzing learning materials and content in regards to how they will need to be modified in order to be displayed and used on a mobile device. They will learn the various tools contained in Captivate and should be proficient in designing a course that is responsive and dynamic in order to be taken on a desktop and mobile device.

5G Resource Center with AEM Publishing

The 5G Resource Center is a web page that serves as a Portal for all training materials and content related to Verizon’s 5G technology and services.  The page was built using Adobe’s Experience Management product. There are several authoring teams within Verizon’s L&D organization that we have trained on how to design, develop and publish content in the latest version of the AEM platform. The 5G Resource center is a site that contains the most types of layout, functionality and design possibilities that the platform offers. The site is updated regularly as content and the technology advances daily. The site is one of the most visited training materials portals within the organization as it offers a large repository of information related to our 5G technology and roll out plans.

The Code of Conduct

Verizon’s Code of Conduct course is a company wide compliance course that will be taken  by 155,000 employees in a 4 month period. Given legal and regulatory requirements it is one of the more prominent and larger courses we regularly update. The course is designed with several branching scenarios that expose the learner to various ethical and legal issues they may face in their job. The learners path in the course is determined by their own answers given to several hypothetical scenarios. The answers plot the route and experience for the learner based on how ethical or correct the see the given scenarios. The course logic determines how much or little training they need regarding the Code of  Conduct based on their choices and present understanding of the Code’s implications for themselves, their coworkers and the company.
